How to Use the Word Unscrambler

  1. Enter two or more letters in the search box.
  2. Use a question mark (?) when one letter is unknown or can be any letter.
  3. Turn on Use all letters when you only want full-length anagrams.
  4. Choose a word-length button or change the sort order to narrow the results.

Example: Unscramble “rates”

Entering rates can produce full-length anagrams and shorter words made from those letters. The exact results depend on the word list used by Anagrio.

Wildcard Searches

A ? acts as one wildcard letter. For example, entering rat?s lets the tool test words that can be made from R, A, T, S and one additional letter.

Full-Length Anagrams

Turn on Use all letters when you want words that use every entered letter or wildcard. This is useful when you are solving a true anagram rather than looking for every shorter word that can be formed.
